If Adam Lambert were to place an online personal ad, he clearly would not be seeking a SWF with whom he could go on long beach walks.
Instead, in an interview withFrontiers magazine, the singer makes it clear that he’s interested in a SYPB. What does that stand for? By the end of this article, you should be able to figure it out…
On the pressure of being an openly gay musician: The thing I keep telling myself whenever the pressure starts looming is that I’ve been doing what I’ve always done, just on a larger scale now, so it’s not so bad! The opportunities that have come from American Idol are amazing.
On current musical influences: I love a lot of the electronica stuff from the UK – Ive been gravitating toward that lately. I had my moment when I was all about the classic rock years back, but lately it’s more about pop-electro stuff. I love Goldfrapp, La Roux. And all of the American pop divas, of course: Gaga, Christina, Madonna, Rihanna. I love all of them.
On the reception he’s received: At first I didn’t know if the gay community was really into this or not, what I’m doing. And then slowly but surely I was traveling internationally and domestically and met a lot of gay men and women who were really excited about what’s going on with my record and what I’m doing, and it feels really nice for my community to acknowledge it.
Lambert was then asked if he’d rather sleep with Ryan Seacrest or Simon Cowell, a hilarious question. His response:
Ew. Neither one of them is my type at all. They’re both too old for me. I like pretty boys in their early-to-mid twenties. Make sure you print that.
We’ve done so, Adam. Single, Young, Pretty Boys, consider yourselves lucky!
Adam Lambert is suggesting to fans that rather than buy him gifts or send him flowers before concerts and events, he would like to see his fans’ money go to a better cause: charity.
He tweeted out the idea, posting:
“Instead of giving me gifts, why not donate 2 donorschoose.org or other charity in my name? U can print a reciept 4 me and personalize it.”
Good idea! So thoughtful!
Later, he tweeted again thanking his fans for the positive response to the idea, as many tweeted him back pledging their help!
Loves it! Hope this keeps going throughout his whole tour! Imagine all the good that could get done!
In his music video for “If I Had You,” Adam Lambert combines the worlds of Willy Wonka with Thriller and Interview with the Vampire.
Sounds about right for the flamboyant artist, doesn’t it?
But Lambert toned his look down a bit for a performance on The Tonight Show Friday evening, merely donning a pair of zebra-inspired pants for a rendition of this same single. Judge them for yourself now:
Over the past couple weeks, Lambert has appeared at charity event that raised money to fight AIDS; taken part in a concert sponsored by KISS-FM in Los Angeles; been interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres; and come down with a slight case of Bieber Fever.
We hope he’s feeling better because there’s a tour of North America to go this summer!
Below, enjoy his Tonight Show performance of “If I Had You.”
Ready to return to the set of Adam Lambert’s “If I Had You?”
Earlier this week, we gave fans a look at the artist’s upcoming music video for that single, via this series of photos from it.
Now, we’ve returned with even more eccentric shots of Adam and his back-up singers/dancers. An insider describes the video as “Willy Wonka meets Thriller meets Interview With The Vampire,” which sounds like the sort of thing Lambert would come up with.
Looks like it, too…
Below, meanwhile, we’ve posted a video of Lambert on set. He’s discussing the theme behind “If I Had You” (i.e. life is worthless without the one you love) and coming across as his typical well-spoken, calm, cool, funny self.
In a new interview with OK! Weekly, Adam Lambert is the latest celebrity to admit: I’ve got a case of Bieber fever.
This infliction doesn’t seem as dramatic as other verified outbreaks, as Lambert responded to a question about watching Justin Bieber perform at last Sunday’s Wango Tango concert and said:
“I have to say I’m sorry I missed it. I met him before at a couple radio shows, he’s a really nice kid. He’s really friendly and he’s funny… He’s obviously worked really hard. I know adolescent girls are loving him. Good for him.”
Other topics touched on in the discussion included Kris Allen and Adam’s upcoming tour. Check out a few excerpts from it:
On Allen: “If there was ever a rivalry it would have been last year and that wasn’t the case. He and I get along so well… We really respect each other.”
What will the tour be like? “I would definitely say my theatrical past and sensibility are definitely being put into play. I wanted to create like a story through the music, even if it’s loose and it’s not super clear, I wanted it to make sense to me and my people. So, that when performing these songs, there’s an emotional motive.”
Can American Idol survive without Simon Cowell? “I think people will definitely miss Simon, [but] at the end of the day it’s really about the contestants. That’s why people turn in every week. They get invested and so I think it will be fine.”
Read the full interview now and, as always, sound off: How awesome is Adam Lambert?!?
It was a major episode of Ellen today for fans of pop culture, talent and generally bright, young man.
First, as previously reported, Robert Pattinson sat down with Ellen DeGeneres and discussed his recently-shorn hair.
On the same installment, Adam Lambert chatted with the host and sung for the audience. The crooner dished on his inclusion in People’s Most Beautiful People issue, while also expressing surprise that American Idol asked him to serve as a mentor this season.
He had nothing but kind things to say about the new batch of finalists. See and listen for yourself:
A slew of celebrities came out this week in support of a good cause.
For the third year in a row, Paper Magazine and H&M sponsored the Fashion Against AIDS Collection, an event meant to emphasize the need for safe sex.
Those in attendance included Adam Lambert, Benji Madden… and Hugh Hefner’s busty twin girlfriends, Karissa and Kristina Shannon.
Ogle photos of the group below and visit our fashion store to see if you can purchase any of this attire. Come on, who wouldn’t wanna look like Hef’s gal pals?!?
That honor now falls to the five-year old below, who doesn’t just sing the Adam Lambert classic “Whataya Want from Me.” He belts out every word, hums along with the tune and tries to hit high notes just like the crooner himself.
Seriously, take four minutes out of your day and watch all the way through. You won’t regret it.
